Working Internationally

Modus is a London studio with an international practice. Projects have taken us from Nice to the Serengeti, Qatar to Portugal, with installations delivered across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. The practice is global, with the exception of North America. Every fireplace begins in London, where the design, engineering, and finishing are developed in partnership with Europe's leading manufacturers, whether the brief calls for a refined adaptation of the core collection or something entirely without precedent.

Our project managers are accustomed to working flexibly across time zones, ensuring international projects are coordinated as closely as those delivered closer to home. Every jurisdiction has its own rules on installation, ventilation, and flueing, and we work directly with local health and safety professionals, building control, and certified installers to ensure each fireplace is fully compliant on arrival. This is built into the design from the outset, not resolved at the end.

For projects that warrant it, our specialist teams travel to install on site, applying the same standards as a UK delivery. Where a competent local team is already in place, we guide them through the installation remotely, typically with detailed installation drawings, a builders' preparation schedule, and scheduled video calls at the critical stages. Either route delivers the same finished result.

From a Singita lodge in the Serengeti to homes along the Caribbean coast, and from boutique hotels in continental Europe to residences in the Gulf, the international portfolio reflects the same principles as the UK work: architectural clarity, technical depth, and bespoke capability without compromise.
