Hole-in-the-Wall Linear Gas Fireplace with Steel Side Panels
Bespoke side panels extend the overall width and visual presence of the fireplace, turning the fire itself into a broader wall feature rather than a simple opening. In this example, the side panels are finished in hot-rolled steel, also known as blue steel, adding texture and tonal variation to the surrounding design. The same concept can also be produced in a wide range of alternative finishes, including brushed bronze and aged brass, allowing the fireplace to be tailored to the material palette of the room.
Shown here as a gas fire, the design can also be developed as a bioethanol fireplace where gas or a suitable flue arrangement is not available. Its restrained linear form and custom metal detailing make it particularly well suited to modern interiors, including bedrooms and wider bedroom suite schemes where a fireplace can add warmth, atmosphere and a strong visual focus.
