Bespoke 8m Double-Sided Fireplace by Modus Atelier
The double-sided format allows the fire to connect adjoining areas while retaining an open view through the installation. A polished stainless steel trim frames the fireplace opening, providing a clean, precise edge and reflecting the light and movement of the flame. Its restrained detailing allows the extraordinary length of the fire to remain the dominant feature.
Behind the visible design sits a substantial piece of bespoke engineering. Three extraction fans are integrated into the system to manage the safe and effective removal of flue gases across the full length of the fireplace. The extraction, combustion and ventilation requirements were developed together to accommodate the scale of the installation without compromising its open appearance.
Every element was created specifically for the project, from the continuous burner and stainless steel detailing to the extraction system concealed within the wider structure. The result is a completely one-off fireplace that demonstrates how ambitious architectural concepts can be developed from first principles and delivered as a fully functioning installation.
