Contemporary Two-Sided Gas Fireplace with Blue Steel Base
A defining feature of the design is its extended low-level base, shown here in untreated blue steel. The natural variation, surface texture and tonal depth of the steel give the fireplace a more distinctive material character, creating a focal point that feels striking without relying on decorative detail. The base extends beyond the fire itself, reinforcing the horizontal proportions of the installation and helping the fireplace sit confidently within the room.
Shown here as a gas fire, the design can equally be developed as a bioethanol fireplace or, where technically suitable, as a wood-burning fire. The base can be made to bespoke dimensions to suit the scale of the interior, while the upper chimney breast can be formed in more traditional construction materials or fabricated in mild steel and finished to specification. This flexibility allows both the form and material finish of the fireplace to be tailored precisely to the wider architectural scheme.
